Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek made the following remarks regarding his one-day visit to France.
We managed to fit a lot into our one-day visit to France yesterday.
In this context, we first met with the members of MEDEF, the largest business people's association in France, hosted by Jean LEMIERRE, Chairman of the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas.
Afterwards, we delivered a speech on Turkey's economy and our programme to France-based investment funds and senior executives of banks managing approximately 4 trillion euros, hosted by Societe Generale.
We also held a meeting with my friend Mr Fatih BİROL, President of the International Energy Agency, regarding the outlook of the global energy market.
Furthermore we had a bilateral meeting with the French Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr Bruno Le MAIRE, to discuss how to increase bilateral trade and investments between our two countries.
Lastly, at the France-Germany Forum, we addressed the CEO/CFOs of around 70 companies about the investment opportunities in Turkey last night.
Our talks with investors will be continuing with our visits to Gulf countries at the beginning of the week. The purpose of our visits is to explain the new program and to attract sustainable investment that will provide high added value.
